The South Carolina National Guard trained a total of 51 personnel among five different emergency services agencies during a Military Tactical Vehicle Familiarization and Patient Extraction Exercise at the McCrady Training Center in Eastover, S.C. from October 15 to 17.
This training event was conducted in order to evaluate and validate the established policies, procedures, training, equipment, and inter-agency mutual aid agreements governing the initial response to a tactical vehicle accident on McCrady Training Center and in the surrounding community.
The Fire Departments of the City of Columbia, Fort Jackson, and McCrady Training Center as well as McCrady and Richland County EMS were among the agencies that participated in the training.
Leadership at the McCrady Training Center reported that the event successfully provided a platform for discussion and interagency collaboration in refining agency specific protocols, as well as further defining on-going training goals for the partnered agencies.
