U.S. Army 2nd Lt. James Culp, 124th Engineer Company platoon leader, South Carolina Army National Guard, speaks about the unit’s mission repairing a portion of Botanical Parkway in West Columbia, S.C., Oct. 14, 2015, after recent flood waters destroyed many parts of the state. The South Carolina National Guard has been activated to support state and county emergency management agencies and local first responders as historic flooding impacts counties statewide.
