State Partnership Program History

History of SCNG State Partnership Program
Under the U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Van McCarty, the adjutant general of South Carolina, the State Partnership Program provides a unique opportunity for South Carolinians to collaborate with, learn from, and mentor partners from the Republic of Colombia.
Since 2012 SPP has offered numerous opportunities for South Carolina National Guard members to work together with Colombian service members to strengthen a wide array of processes, systems, techniques, tactics, and procedures.
The SPP consistently yields significant returns on investment from a readiness standpoint and continuously deepens the security cooperation relationship between the SCNG and the Colombian military.
